Being Persuasive

You're going to do something similar.

Homework:

Writing About Yourself

Good start. Open yesterday's paragraph.

1. Turn every sentence that mentions you in positive terms blue (your values or goals).

2. Turn every sentence that talks about money yellow.

3. Turn every sentence that talks about something you have DONE, green.

We look at page 341 in the text.

Start work on creating a similar document for yourself. You are working to make statements about yourself that are true and show possible strengths. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_effect)

When you are done with that document, create a revised paragraph. Make it a general introduction to yourself -- there is no audience. It is a paragraph explaining who you are, what you value, and what your strengths are. Make sure it includes something that would be colored green -- something you have done that illustrates a strength.

When this is done, post it in a reply to yesterday's post.
